Live Chat Software – ChatStat

ChatStat Offers Two Connection Options

Posted in General by chatstat on June 24, 2008

ChatStat’s Live Chat Software can now connect to our servers using two different methods for maximum firewall compatibility. The default corporate connection uses standard ports which achieve maximum compatibility with firewalls and network restrictions. If you have trouble connecting using the standard corporate connection, you can switch to our SMB/HO connection option which uses non-standard ports which work for small businesses and home offices especially for our international customers.

Just select the Connection Server that works for you from the drop down in the login screen. One more enhancement designed to make ChatStat work more seamlessly for you and your company.

Corporate Firewall Compatibility Achieved!

Posted in General by chatstat on June 4, 2008

Corporate firewalls pose a challenge for software that communicates with the internet. Firewalls are designed to lock down the company’s computer network so that network activity that appears to be unauthorized can’t get in or out. Most live chat software, like ChatStat, has a robust way of communicating with servers which makes it difficult to get around these tight firewalls. However, by changing the way our software communicates so that our calls can be made and received through the HTTP Protocol port 80, we have achieved corporate firewall compatibility.

We are excited to announce that ChatStat’s Live Chat Software operator client is now compatible with virtually every corporate firewall. This means no more conflicts or custom settings are necessary. If you have had trouble getting chat software to work through your firewall, it is time to give ChatStat a try.

Fully Moved to Peer1 Managed Hosting!

Posted in General by chatstat on June 3, 2008

Yes, that’s right! ChatStat has been fully moved to Peer1 Managed Hosting. This marks a significant upgrade to our hardware, network infrastructure and support.

Our new setup now includes:

  • Fiber Optic Networking
  • Fiber optic connections increases the speed of internal calculations between our servers as well as the speed at which they connect to the internet.

  • Enhanced Load Balancing using Server Farming
  • Enhanced load balancing using server farming optimizes several key performance issues. The new method of load balancing allows for hot-swappable, no-downtime, fault tolerance. This means if a server goes offline, the other servers will instantly pickup the slack while we replace the hardware.

  • SAN Data Storage
  • Our ultra high-speed SAN data storage system can handle more load and more read/write requests. In addition to being made up of hot-swappable drives and being fault-tolerant, it will significantly speed up the storage of statistical information and increase the speed and reliability of web chat message transmission.

  • Upgraded Industrial-Strength Firewalls and Encryption
  • Our new hardware firewalls are even stronger and faster than our previous firewalls. This means an even stronger wall against malicious attackers. Our industrial-strength firewalls and encryption ensure secure and private data storage.

The bottom line: ChatStat’s Live Chat Software will be even faster and more reliable as we continue to grow.
