Note to MSN MESSENGER users. Outage today at MSN, not Chatstat.

Posted in Uncategorized by chatstat on January 18, 2007

We had many customers complaining today about MSN not working. In fact, even MSN Messenger itself did not work for much of the day. Apparently the MSN messenging network went down temporarily.

Im not sure I have a solution to prevent this in the future, since we can not control the MSN servers, but our team is looking into it.

Using ChatStat, it is very easy to add live chat to your blog. Here are the steps to take…

1. go to the Features On Demand from the main menu. Choose DIRECTLINK> E-mail and forum live chat link

This Feature On Demand allows you to place a live chat icon within your e-mail signature, or inside of a forum signature. Once this feature on demand has been enabled, two new kinds of HTML snippets will appear in the drop down list are activated. Select these to set up your new email signature and/or forum signature.

For this blog post we are going to concentrate on BLOG CHAT , since this is not covered in our manual.

Copy and paste that link strait in the FORUM OR SIMPLE SIGNATURE LINK HTML SNIPPET into your forum FORUM signature.

As an EXAMPLE, here is CHATSTAT DIRECT CHAT within a forum. Yours would look similiar, but the last variable CSUID would be a different number.:

LANGUAGE TRANSLATION POWERED BY WWW.TRANSCLICK.COM

Setting up language translation is very easy. To get started, go to the Features On Demand Control Panel and locate Language Translation under Misc. Features.

Choose your origin and target language, this will load the second window, which are “sub-dictionaries” for each language. If your website is about computers, then choose computers as a sub dictionary, or if you do architecture, choose the “Architecture” sub dictionary. There are hundreds of combinations. Load as many as you wish.

Once you have finished setting up all of your language pairs, you are set to go! To test it out for yourself, just go to your own website and start a conversation with yourself. You will notice on the OPERATOR SIDE there is now a window that lets you ENABLE Language translation. See the Illustration below:

Translation screenshot.

CLICK ON THE ABOVE IMAGE TO SEE A CLEAR
SCREENSHOT LOAD, CLICK BACK TO RETURN TO BLOG.

Choose from one of the language translation pairs you have created and begin speaking. As you can see above the language is translated both ways. This means you speak your native toungue, they speak theirs, and both of you see only your own language commming and going.

This premium Feature On Demand cost $20 per month for all languages and all dictionaries, across IM , LIVE CHAT, AND OPERATOR TO OPERATOR chat.
It is a good value.
