Live Chat Software – ChatStat

We will be turning up the speed soon!

Posted in Uncategorized by chatstat on June 29, 2007

ChatStat has just ordered a brand new QUAD CORE server and a 100MBIT wide open pipe has been added to our overall throughput.

What does this mean to you? We are going to TURN UP THE SPEED for Chatstat!

As of about the 3rd of July, you should be able to notice a definite increase in the crispness of the interface, as well as lower latency when sending conversation engagements and receiving messages and transfers.

Thanks for your support!

The ChatStat team.

Rename your IM buddies.

Rename your buddies, including ICQ and others!

With the release of version 3.1, you will now be able to change the LABEL associated with any instant messenger buddy. For example, if you wish you can change an ICQ number into a name. This will work for all 7 instant messenger services we offer.

RESTORABLE CONVERSATIONS

Posted in Uncategorized by chatstat on June 29, 2007

Restorable “state” service will allow discontinued conversations to be resumed.

If a visitor becomes disconnected from the internet or has to restart their computer, upon returning to your site ChatStat will ask the visitor,

It appears you were disconnected from your live chat with [OPERATOR NAME].
Would you like to resume your chat with them or start a new one?

RESUME / START NEW

At this juncture, the visitor has the option of resuming a broken conversation, or starting a new one.

It should also be noted that this new system will never drop a call. The reason is that it is using memory on our server to remember who you are (for up to eight hours), instead of placing a cookie on your end users computer or trying to start a session ID. Basically, this is a fail safe way to ensure that calls are not dropped, and in the event of user error or hardware failure, that the call can be resumed with zero penalty to either party.

Web Side Language Localization Editor now complete.

Posted in Special Report by chatstat on June 28, 2007

Multi lingual support is now complete for web visitor side.

With our currently deployed version, all text and images that are viewed by web visitors during a live chat conversation are editable by the site administrator. This is achieved using THREE features on demand:

  • ICON EDITOR
  • POP UP EDITOR
  • LOGO AND CONVERSATION WINDOW EDITOR

Using the editor, you can edit every text and image that a web visitor might see, and change the text and images to match the design and language localization of your site.

Updates to the manual are now in progress and should be completed shortly.

Thank you!

“Call Dropped” bug found and “eliminated”. :)

Posted in Uncategorized by chatstat on June 27, 2007

Some clients were reporting a call disconnected error duing busy or peak times. The cause was found and the bottleneck is now removed. Furthermore we have implemented tracing on all calls that immediately alert our staff by email of any disconnection, by time and date, and the exact circumstances that caused the error.

We sincerely apologize for this, and will continue to strive for perfection!

Sincerely,

Nick Matina
